Connecting social networks
Repost21 publishes posts, replies to direct messages and reacts to comments in connected social networks. You can connect a channel in two ways: in the Social networks section or on the Social networks tab inside a specific agent — the result is the same, the account becomes available to the entire workspace.

Inbox channels are Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Webchat: conversations from them land in the Inbox section, where an AI agent or an operator replies.
How to connect
- Open the Social networks section (or the Social networks tab in the agent editor).
- Pick a platform. For most of them a standard authorization window (OAuth) will open — sign in to your account and confirm access.
- The channel will appear in the list with the status “Active” — you can now publish and receive messages.
Telegram and WhatsApp have their own connection methods — details below.
Telegram
Telegram is connected through a bot. Create a bot with @BotFather, copy the token and paste it into the connection form. When connecting, choose a mode:
- Posting — publishing to a channel where the bot is added as an administrator.
- Inbox — the bot receives direct messages, and conversations go to the Inbox.
- Telegram Business — the AI replies on behalf of your personal account with Telegram Premium (the bot connects to the account through Telegram Business settings). Available on PRO plans and higher.
Instagram, Facebook, Threads
All three are connected through OAuth — the usual Meta sign-in window. A few nuances:
- Instagram — posting always requires media (you can’t publish text without an image or video). Carousels are supported. Inbox plus triggers on comments and replies to stories.
- Facebook — a Page is connected. Along with it, a Messenger channel for the inbox appears automatically — you don’t need to connect it separately.
- Threads — Repost21 publishes to Threads without hashtags: the feed there reads as personal, and tags at the end of a post look like advertising. If you type a
#tagdirectly into the text yourself, it will stay.
LinkedIn and X (Twitter)
They are connected through OAuth and publish text only (no media). The X limit is 280 characters: AI generation takes this into account, and in the composer the counter will highlight an overrun.
Two ways to connect:
- Personal number via QR code — scan the QR in the WhatsApp app (Settings → Linked devices → Link a device), just like in WhatsApp Web. Connecting takes 1–2 minutes — wait for the green checkmark.
- Cloud API — the official connection of a business number through Facebook Business login. Suitable for companies with WhatsApp Business.
TikTok
Publishing video (a text post without video is not possible). For now it works in limited mode: videos are published with “only me” privacy — open them manually in the TikTok app after publishing. There’s no inbox — TikTok has no public API for direct messages.
Publishing to your own profile — the u_username community that Reddit automatically creates for everyone. The first line of text becomes the post title, the rest becomes the body (markdown is supported). Publishing to other people’s subreddits is not available yet.
Reconnecting when a token expires
Access tokens expire over time (each platform has its own term). Repost21 renews them automatically where possible, but if a channel does drop off anyway:
- A red “token expired” banner will appear in the Social networks section, along with a mark on the account card.
- Click Reconnect — go through authorization again (for WhatsApp via QR, scan again).
- Post and conversation history is preserved: reconnecting only updates access.
You’ll get a notification in the bell about connection problems (for example, an unlinked WhatsApp number).
Security
Access tokens for all social networks are stored encrypted and are never sent to the browser. Repost21 requests only the permissions needed for posting and working with messages. You can disconnect a channel at any time — with the “Disconnect” button on the account card in the Social networks section.
Channel limit
The number of channels you can connect depends on your plan (FREE / STARTER / PRO / AGENCY). Your current limit and usage are in the Plan section of the app.
