Competitor analysis
The “Competitors” section helps you learn from other people’s accounts — add a competitor by @username, and Repost21 will collect their posts, calculate metrics and run an AI breakdown: which topics and formats resonate with the audience, when it’s best to publish and which posts you should make yourself. For X there’s a separate mode — automatic replies to a competitor’s new tweets on behalf of your account.
How to add a competitor
- Open the “Competitors” section and click “Add”.
- Pick a social network — 7 platforms are supported, switched with chips in the form.
- Enter the competitor’s @username — with or without the @ sign, case doesn’t matter.
The competitor appears in the list as a card: @username, name, platform and follower count.
Post parsing and metrics
Open the competitor’s card (the “Breakdown” button) — you’ll land on the details page. The “Re-parse” button collects up to 30 of the competitor’s latest posts. The update is triggered manually — click “Re-parse” whenever you want fresh data.
After parsing, key indicators appear on the page:
| Indicator | What it means |
|---|---|
| Posts | how many posts were collected |
| Average ER | average engagement across the collected posts |
| Top topic | the topic that most often resonates with the audience |
| Best slot | the posting time with the strongest response |
Below is the “Competitor’s best posts” block: each post with views, likes, comments, date and ER. Posts with the highest engagement are marked with a “TOP” label, and the link lets you open the original on the social network. Sorting toggle: “Top ER” / “New” / “All”.
AI breakdown
The “AI breakdown” button analyzes the last 30 collected posts and gathers the conclusions into a single card:
- Top topics — what the competitor writes about most often and what gets a response.
- Formats — which content types work best.
- Best time — when posts gather more engagement.
- Hashtags — which tags the competitor uses.
- Recommendations — what of this you should apply.
- Post ideas — ready ideas based on the analysis.
Under the ideas there’s a “Create a post from this idea” button — the brief goes straight into the composer, where AI content generation turns it into a ready post tailored to your platforms.
Auto-replies on X
For competitors on the X platform you can enable auto-replies: when a competitor publishes a new tweet, your connected X account automatically replies with a short comment. This way you regularly show up in the comments of the competitor’s audience without manual work.
How to enable
- Connect your X account in the Social networks section.
- Open the competitor’s page on X and turn on the auto-replies toggle.
- Pick the tone of replies with a chip: witty, supportive or bold.
How it works
- The competitor’s new tweets are checked automatically about once every half hour.
- We reply only to fresh tweets — no replies are sent to old posts.
- The reply is short (up to 240 characters) and written in the language of the original tweet.
- One tweet — one reply, with a pause kept between replies.
Built-in limiters
| Protection | How it works |
|---|---|
| Daily limit | no more than 8 auto-replies per day |
| Topic blocklist | tweets about sensitive matters (tragedies, scandals and the like) are skipped without a reply |
| Auto-shutoff | after 3 errors in a row auto-replies turn off and you get a notification |
The auto-replies card shows statistics — how many were published today and in total, how many replies failed or were skipped, plus a list of the latest replies.
What’s next
